This year’s Seafood Processing Europe sees a number of highlights from Marel Food Systems’ brands – AEW Delford, Carnitech, Dantech, Marel and Scanvaegt. We will have live demonstrations at the Marel Food Systems stands #5453 and #5541 – so be sure to pay us a visit.
“Seafood Processing Europe is an excellent opportunity for visitors to learn more about our innovative equipment and complete processing systems within fish and seafood proc¬essing,” says Director of Sales and vice CEO of Marel Food Systems Lárus Ásgeirsson and adds: “Marel started 25 years ago in the seafood industry and we have been dedicated to supplying processors worldwide with machines and turnkey systems ever since. By utilizing the best from each of our brands we are able to offer customer’s even more exciting new products than each company could offer before.”
HIGHLIGHTS
Innova – Full production process control
Marel Food Systems has recently released Innova, a revolutionary new software designed for intelligent production control. The technology is built on the extensive software development experience of Marel Food Systems’ global brands AEW Delford, Carnitech, Marel and Scanvaegt and is designed to be compatible with all Marel Food Systems machinery.
Innova provides the complete IT solution for the modern food processor to optimize profits and overall production performance. It covers the complete value chain in the production cycle, from reception of supplies to product dispatch, providing all key performance indicators (KPI’s) for each stage and traceability from door to door. Innova monitors and controls critical KPI’s in real-time that can include: Yields, throughput and efficiency, giveaway and loss of sales, quality, stock levels and movements, traceability and profitability. Innova has a modular design providing maximum flexibility from smaller operations to plant wide systems.
Advanced thermo former and tray loading systems
Marel Food Systems will be exhibiting two advanced tray loading systems designed for optimizing efficiency and reducing labour costs.
The Cut ‘n Pack salmon processing system comprises of a Scanvaegt ScanPortioner B36 portion cutter and an AEW Delford Intelligent Portion Loading Robot (IPL Robot). This line is capable of loading as many as 160 salmon portions per minute directly into thermo formers.
The ScanPortioner B36 controls the line by first scanning the product to determine where the cuts are to be made to produce fixed-weight portions. It then makes sufficient space between the portions so that the IPL Robot can pick them up. A vision system identifies the exact position and orientation of the portions, and sends the information to the IPL Robot. This unit automatically picks up the portions gently and loads them directly into thermo formers for packing – no manpower is needed.
The Marel IPM III and Quickloader combination makes it possible to carry out loading with desired orientation and/or portion combinations. The dual tray conveyor can handle both portrait and/or landscape tray orientation – also simultaneously. Several different loading options are available to optimize production efficiency.
This system reduces labour costs, as only 2-3 operators are required to run the system. It is compact in size and designed to keep up with a medium sized packing machine (approximately 40 trays per min/per lane). Alternatively a dual lane version is available with the capacity of 2 x 40 trays per minute/ per lane.
Next generation freezing technology
This year’s SPE show will also see the launch of the new Super Flow Easy Clean freezer from Dantech. This new freezer is movable, cost-effective and environ¬mentally friendly and very easy to clean. The freezing chamber can be raised mechanically and cleaning can be completed in no more than ten minutes. Compared to the cleaning of existing freezers, this is very quick and reduces excessive water consumption.
The freezer is estimated to reduce overall freezing costs by at least 15%. Features that are highly energy consuming has been changed and the freezing process has been speeded up. The unit is governed by a combination of impingement airflow technology and the highly energy efficient turbulent airflow, and finally temperature and pressure can be differentiated due to the division of the freezer into separate chambers.
Automatic deheading and filleting of salmon
From Carnitech Salmon one of the most recent developments, the CT 2620 Deheading Machine will appear in integration with the CT 2630 Filleting Machine and a small trimming line
The CT 2620 works in four steps. First, the salmon is placed in the infeed carriage and the operator activates the machine. The salmon is automatically deheaded, after which the tail is cut off and the fish automatically fed into the filleting machine with no handling required. Because of the automation of the whole process, labour costs are reduced, and overall yield is optimised.
Intelligent trimming
Designed to trim salmon fillets automatically, the Marel ITM is the ideal solution for high-value trimming of fillets into pre-defined shapes. The ITM uses an advanced vision system that ensures a high precision cut, making the entire process – from measuring to trimming – efficient and productive.
Using the latest in colour and vision technology, the ITM automatically evaluates each fillet before trimming, and then calculates the most economic cut configuration based on weight, shape, and colour grade parameters. Multiple trimming definitions are available simultaneously and the machine can trim up to 40 fillets per minute.
….. and much more
Come see these interesting highlights as well as other exciting processing equipment such as Weigh Price Labellers from AEW Delford, pinbone machines and slicers from Carnitech Salmon, Target and Speed Batcher from Marel and StripCutter, Multihead Weigher, graders and infeed systems from Scanvaegt.
